I live in a town with a prairie dog reservation.
While I am opposed to reservations, I am grateful that someone thought we might actually succeed in wiping these animals out–like we have done other species.

Today I saw a prairie dog running across my lawn and diving for its burrow. Yes, I am sure it was not a ground squirrel.
I am going to write that prairie dog book about the escape artists soon. By the way, the neighborhood toughs were on the lawn too, those dangerous doves.
